Paver Patio Installation That Stays Flat for Decades

Patios built on deep compacted bases that handle Oregon clay and winter rain. Serving Portland, Salem, Eugene, and Corvallis.

Why Choose Our Patio Contractors

Bases Built for Clay Soil

We excavate deeper and compact in thin lifts because Willamette Valley clay punishes thin bases. Flat now, flat in fifteen years.

Proper Drainage Pitch

Every patio is graded to shed rain away from your foundation, so water never ponds on the surface or sneaks into the crawlspace.

Locked-In Edges

Edge restraints and polymeric sand keep the pavers tight, so joints stay clean and weeds stay out.

Honest Material Guidance

We tell you which pavers handle freeze-thaw and constant moisture, and which bargain options will not.

Common Questions About Paver Patio Installation

How long does it take to install a paver patio?

Most residential patios take three days to a week from excavation to final sweep of polymeric sand. Bigger patios, tricky access, or added features like seat walls and steps add time. Weather can shift the schedule in winter, and we keep you posted if it does.

Why do paver patios sink or settle?

Almost always because of the base, not the pavers. If the gravel layer is too thin, was not compacted properly, or sits on soft organic soil, wet Oregon winters work it loose and the surface follows. Building the base correctly the first time prevents it.

Are pavers better than a poured concrete patio?

In our climate, usually yes. A poured slab cracks when clay soil moves, and the crack is permanent. Pavers flex with the ground, and if a spot ever needs attention, individual pavers can be lifted, the base corrected, and the same pavers reset with no visible scar.

What time of year can you install a patio in Oregon?

Year-round, with some caveats. Summer and early fall are the smoothest. In the wet season we plan around heavy rain, since base compaction needs reasonably dry conditions. Booking in winter often means a shorter wait and a patio ready by the first nice weekend of spring.

How do I maintain a paver patio?

Not much is needed. Sweep it, rinse it a couple of times a year, and refresh the joint sand every few years if it wears down. In shadier Oregon yards an annual wash keeps moss and algae from getting a foothold.
